The doula, what's that ?
A nice unknown word to talk about a role which is as old as the world: in ancient Greece, doulas were already present at women’s side during the pregnancy, delivery and the baby’s first moments.
Nowadays, doulas are educated, trained and members of associations.
They are no substitute to midwives, but as well a psychological and emotional support, they offer information and logistical tips and help.
A doula supports the entire family, including the Dad-to-be, and brothers and sisters, who too often remain on the side-lines of this unique life experience.
